The 17-mile road connects to UT-261 and winds through towering sandstone buttes and mesas. A high-clearance vehicle is best since it is unpaved, but in dry conditions many regular cars can make the drive slowly. 🏔️ Most travelers head straight to Monument Valley ($8 per person), but Valley of the Gods ($ Free 😁) offers the same jaw-dropping desert scenery with hardly any crowds. (Drones are also allowed on this drive.) We felt like we had the entire landscape to ourselves as we drove between massive rock formations rising out of the desert floor. It was peaceful, dramatic, and felt like discovering a secret corner of the Southwest. 🛑 The road is unpaved and can become hard to drive after rain, so check conditions before heading out.
