Taiwan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Chen Ming-chi told CBS News' Anna Coren that Taiwan cannot take lightly Chinese President Xi Jinping’s comments about reunification of the two countries. He said the island must build its defense strategy around China’s long-term goals. When asked whether Taiwan fears President Trump could strike a broader deal with Beijing that compromises the island, Chen said he believes U.S. security commitments to Taiwan remain “very strong and solid.” #taiwan #china #trump #usa
