Hot take… The affair wasn’t the real trauma. The abandonment was. Being ignored. Emotionally dropped. Left alone to make sense of the pain while they were elsewhere. That’s why your body doesn’t feel safe. That’s why trust feels impossible. That’s why you keep checking, questioning, bracing.
