Here are some fast facts about this country (also please ignore our dancing - we clearly have a lot of practice to do)! 👉 It's not a country?! 🤔 Niue is not officially on the 193 UN country list. So why are we counting it as a country? In 2023 the USA officially recognized Niue and the Cook Islands as independent countries. And since we are from America, and did not want to leave any country out, we are traveling to every country both on the UN and USA list! 👉 It is small. 10x smaller than Rhode Island. For perspective, 35,000 Niue's can fit into the USA. 😱 👉 Less than 2,000 people live in Niue. (That's smaller than my high school! 😁) 👉 It's one of the last countries to see the sunset! 😎 👉 Only 7,000 people still speak Niuean. This means it is classified as an "endangered language."
