In 2020, Jelly Roll weighed 540 pounds. He couldn't ride a rollercoaster. He couldn't skydive. He had multiple heart scares and said he felt like he had already cheated the game just by still being alive. In December 2022, he decided to change his life. What started as a goal to walk his first 5K turned into one of the most public and honest weight loss journeys anyone in the spotlight has ever shared. By mid 2023 he was down 20 pounds. By early 2024, 70. By October that year he hit the 100 pound milestone. By November 2025, he had dropped to 265 pounds and landed on the cover of Men's Health magazine, a goal he had set for himself when he was still over 400 pounds and most people thought he was dreaming. At his lowest he was close to 250 pounds, nearly 290 pounds lighter than where he started. He has been open about the setbacks too, including a broken collarbone before Christmas that took him out of training, holiday indulgences that pushed him back up to 276 pounds, and plans for skin removal surgery later this year.
