I was listening to the Ashley podcast and she dropped a 💎. To sum it up, she said We have to train our brains to see them as an image bearer and not as the one who offended/hurt us. And when we do that, we’re not just honoring God’s creation (them), but we’re honoring HIM- by honoring the ones he made. And when we think about all the things we’ve done in our lives that have offended Jesus, disappointed Jesus, but yet he shows us what feels like never ending grace & mercy. It gives us the opportunities to be more gracious and kind- like HE is ALL THE TIME. And when the lord calls us friend- do we deserve that? After allllll the things we do to let him down DAILY. He still calls us FRIEND. The lord never turns his back on us, ghost us, or “keeps that same energy.” Matthew 5:38 says, “If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also”.
