Why your calling feels so heavy If you struggle with bringing an unwelcome word to the rebel remnant, with feeling alone and iced out and like your assignment is painful and heavy, this is for you. This word from the Lord will help walk in the prophetic in a way that you don’t *collapse under the assignment.* And it has to do with *overfunctioning as a prophet.* If your calling feels heavy, it’s because you’re trying to *convert people to the Word of the Lord* and get them to *accept* the message you’re bringing. But that’s not your job. It’s God’s. We do partner with heaven in our assignment, but it’s the Holy Spirit that convicts and converts. Remember what the Lord said to his prophets, which basically boiled down to this: “I’m going to give you a word to release over my people…and they are not going to listen to you.” Which makes our assignments feel like an exercise in futility, right? Like what even is the point? The point is that our word is the judgment and their rejection of it is *proof the word was true.* If you look at the burden you feel as a prophet or watchmen, I bet you’ll find that it’s because you’re seeking *validation and acceptance of your word in places where there is a hardened heart.* But what makes the yoke of Jesus easy and the burden of being a watchmen light is when we stay within the boundary of our assignment and don’t to beyond it, which is to release the word … and let God to the rest.
