According to police, Athina Karalias, 25, allegedly beat up and robbed the victim outside of a home on 67th Street off Cooper Avenue, between 1 and 1:15 a.m. on April 17. The criminal complaint provided by the Queens District Attorney’s office stated that, on the night of the attack, Karalias asked to speak with the victim. Upon approaching her, the complaint continued, Karalias proceeded to punch him about the face, when Wenzel came up from behind and began punching him about the face several times as well. It was then that three other unapprehended individuals joined the melee and punched him in the face as well, the victim said in the complaint. He also told police he then fell to the floor where one of the attackers removed the watch from his wrist. The incident caused the victim annoyance, alarm, bruising to his ribs and eye, substantial pain to his face, chest and ribs, and a laceration to his head that required two staples to close. The victim reported the incident to the 104th Precinct after being treated at Long Island Jewish Medical Center for his injuries, law enforcement agents said.
