Couldn’t get over how beautiful this national park in Afghanistan is! It’s made up of a chain of six blue lakes in the mountainous desert of central Afghanistan. It is so gorgeous and we loved spending the day here and meeting so many amazing local people. For many people visiting, this was an escape from the harsh realities of what they are experiencing and a place where they could enjoy the beautiful landscapes of their country. Unfortunately, just weeks ago (after we had visited and made this video), women have now been banned from visiting this beautiful national park. This is just another example of the continued restrictions being placed upon women in Afghanistan - this one, because “going sightseeing is not a must for women.” It’s unimaginable what people are going through in Afghanistan. We hope to continue to share about both the joy and kindness of the local people as well as the unimaginable situation many of them are in
