Dallas was jumping up so much at one point that I got scared she might have a little spasm because she was just so excited. When we go out in public, I always have a million thoughts running through my mind — even if someone is with me, I still feel that responsibility because I’m her mom. But I don’t let that stop me from taking her out and letting her experience the world. Dallas deserves to live life just like any other child, and I want to encourage other special-needs moms to do the same. Take your children out. Let them explore. Overcome your fears and trust that everything will be okay — no matter who’s watching or how your child is stimming in public. Nobody truly cares — and even if they do, that’s their problem. You and your child deserve to live life fully.
