Correction: "turning himself in" Crazy story... Eric Keith McNeil on Instagram - about a week and a half ago I had just finished my report on the Dyckman water main break when I got a call from my executive producer that I was anchoring the new 4 PM newscast for the first time and that I should rush back to the station. So I was walking real fast - you know I keep these sneakers on in the streets.- when I heard a man call out to me, "Ms. Evers" and told me that he had watched Street Soldiers on FOX5 when he was locked up and listened to it on Hot 97. He said he needed help getting his story out. I told him I was on the clock, had too much on my plate right now and could not do a documentary but if he wanted to do a video for social media, I would be happy to do that. So I recorded this and also made a couple calls afterwards for people who could and did advise him on how to turn his situation around, get right with the law & have a chance at a real life. Thank you guys for helping out - you know who you are. I was struck by his weariness & his sincerity. So here it is.... I got a message he is planning to turn himself in tomorrow. Hoping & praying for the best Eric & that you make it all mean something positive after all. How many more "Shortys" are out there right now, our youth about to throw their lives away & victimizing & traumatizing others along the way?
