Here's what you need to know... I moved to Las Vegas 12 years ago, looking for a change in life. I never thought I'd settle down here, but life presented us an opportunity and I jumped at it. My wife and I both did a lot of of growing up here, she finished college and started her career , I found my career in real estate, we found a church community that we love, and friends that we've grown closer to. I often talk to people considering a move here for a bunch of different reasons - many moving to Las Vegas from California or Seattle for lower cost of living and better quality of life, others relocating for a new job. Here's a few things I share with them : 1. Living in Las Vegas truly does provide big city amenities with a smaller town feel. 2. While there are tons of transplants, there are a lot of people who move back to Las Vegas to settle down, and that speaks volumes to the quality of life here. 3. Traffic is still relatively bearable compared to major cities. 4. Las Vegas has become a big sports city, with professional basketball, football, hockey, and baseball in the works. 5. Once you get to know the suburbs, there are great communities with wonderful neighborhoods and people. 6. New restaurants and businesses open often and events are happening every week so there's never short of things to do.
