Back in the days of trying to make it as an aspiring emo punk band of the early 2000’s (OFAC), we had this studio practice space that we rented with my best friend’s band (Romanticide). Studio B on Ringgold Rd (right across the street from Elations). In the back we rehearsed and recorded music and in the front we had a whole lounge setup complete with a couch, big screen TV, and dvd player. We practically lived there and spent many nights there watching movies and live concerts on dvd. One of the most influential movies that we discovered as a band was Fear and Loathing. It was an epiphany to me that great art didn’t have to make sense to anyone else except the creator. I became semi obsessed with Hunter Thompson for a while and even ended up getting a crappy tattoo of a Ralph Steadman illustration from the book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
