But inch for inch, it's hard to beat the Maldives' crystal clear water + picture perfect white sand. 💵😭However, Maldives has a reputation for being too expensive to visit, with luxury resorts that can cost $1,000+ per night. But if you are a budget traveler like us, you can stay on local islands for a fraction of the cost! We stayed in the Maldives for 3 weeks - it was 3 of the best weeks of our 8 year world trip! Where to stay: 🤿🐠Dhangethi island - World-class scuba diving ($ - affordable local housing) 🏝️🏖️Fulhadhoo island - One of the best beaches on a local island ($$ - mid range cost) 🦈🌊Fulidhoo island - Adventure lovers paradise! Local island easy to swim with dolphins, nurse sharks, sting rays! ($ - affordable local housing) 🐠🌊Mudhdhoo Island - Bioluminescence beach!
