I'm not a carceral feminist, so don't come at me with any takes about how abolition won't hold men accountable bc it's bs. We incarcerate more men than any other country on the planet and we're no more safe because of it. Prisons disappear people and do nothing to solve the root of social problems. I taught incarcerated kids in SF juvenile hall as a poet in residence for eight years!!! I saw first hand how our system operates. It criminalizes victims. It is literally built to shield the Trump and Epsteins of the world from accountability. I am also a survivor of various kinds of harm and my healing has NEVER been found in someone else's punishment. Do I want safer communities? YES!!! Absolutely. And I've dedicated my ENTIRE life to that #epstein #politics #news
