Tory Lanez has filed a lawsuit against the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, as well as the warden and dozens of correctional officers at California Correctional Institution, following a prison stabbing. Court documents obtained by TMZ state that he alleges he was attacked in May 2025 by another inmate, identified as Santino Casio, who reportedly used a makeshift weapon. He claims the assault left him with 16 stab wounds, permanent facial scarring, and two collapsed lungs. The lawsuit argues that prison officials put him in harm’s way by placing him near an inmate with a known history of violence. It further alleges that the facility’s leadership, including Warden Danny Samuel, failed to follow proper safety protocols, especially considering the heightened risks tied to his public profile. He also claims staff were not present when the attack occurred, leading to a delayed response and insufficient protection. In addition, he alleges that while hospitalized, personal belongings—including handwritten songbooks with unreleased material and legal notes—were taken.
