Here, Dr. Becky explains a key reason why she believes there can be such animosity between our kids. It's fair to say that as our children "compete" for resources, they could see their siblings as potential threats to their connection and relationship with their parents. This can explain fairly well why we can be fearful when we have a new baby of how our children will react to that baby. Will they not like their new brother or sister? Will they begin to act out more? Will they be jealous? These are normal human emotions, and it can be challenging to navigate them as parents, particularly when our children are vastly different in personality than each other and (even) us!
