Oh lord, please don't let me be misunderstood 😎 🎶 Taking a long break from posting to spend quality time with fam in Jamaica & soaking up nuff roots & culture 🇯🇲 🌴 So far, I've been to Kingston, St.Thomas, Spanish Town and Ochie in four days! 😌 I'm already getting used to island life, to a slower pace and delicious food. One thing I love about the African diaspora is our languages and music, which influences the entire world. 🌍 I made an effort to visit my father's family after my dad passed away and I'm thankful to know more and more about my heritage. It's important to understand how wide the world is outside of the states - every single culture is impacted by Western Imperalism, especially economically. Sometimes people generalize Jamaicans as "crazy" or "rude" but mostly this stereotype derives from an unruliness that comes from bravely resisting the brutality of racial capitalism & enslavement.
