Erica says a lot of things that others aren't saying. And she's not just making it up. She has an extensive background in working with families and analyzing data. A lot of what she says is contrarian to the way society talks about things. She uses the term shared in the video header often in the podcast of "inconvenient truths." It's really important for us to listen to other opinions, particularly those with scientific evidence and backing, in a thoughtful way. We know that there are tremendous problems in our youth today: anxiety, stress, ADHD, and depression are at all time highs in our youth. We can't expect anything to change if we aren't willing to make changes. All around the world, we see extended maternity leave, but we don't do it in the United States. Our children spend more time at daycare than they do at home. Maybe there's something to the idea that we've moved too far in the other direction, and it's causing issues for our children. It's at least worth the conversation. And I'm glad Erica is willing to go there. Share this post with another parent who needs to hear it!
