A 37 year old man from Dorset, England is paying for his entire wedding after discovering that three Pokemon cards from his childhood collection were worth over $41,000. Andrew Braund found the cards while clearing out his parents' loft and initially thought the whole collection might be worth a few hundred dollars at best. He brought the cards to a friend's trading card shop, where his friend spotted three Charizard cards from the rare 2003 Skyridge set that weren't even in his binder. They were sitting loose in a separate tin. After being professionally graded, the three cards were sent to Ewbank's Auctioneers, where one alone sold for $21,250, setting a house record for a single Pokemon card at the auction house. Braund and his fiancée Rachel Moseley are set to marry in August, and the full $41,000 from the sale will cover the cost of the wedding.
