The suit is a Krechet, also known as "Gyrfalcon," designed by Soviet engineers in the 1960s for surface operations on the Moon as part of the USSR's secret lunar program. The suit is essentially a miniature space module. It weighs around 85 kilograms, has its own internal life support system and an estimated battery life of up to 10 hours. It was built to keep a cosmonaut alive on the lunar surface, but the Soviet Moon landing never happened, and the suits were shelved after the program was quietly cancelled. The seller, who has been listing space memorabilia on eBay for over 25 years with 100 percent positive feedback, did not disclose where the suit came from.
