Disney finally revealed the cast for the live action Tangled, and this is one of the few Disney remakes that actually feels right. Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider makes perfect sense. He has the charm humor and confidence that Flynn needs without it feeling forced. This casting feels natural not recycled. I am also genuinely excited that Teagan Croft was chosen as Rapunzel. She is not overused and that is exactly why this works. Hollywood keeps putting the same actresses in every remake and it is exhausting. Rapunzel is supposed to feel fresh curious and new and casting a lesser known actress gives the character room to actually shine. The original Tangled came out in 2010 and became a modern Disney classic with its music humor and emotional storytelling. Rapunzel’s journey of freedom identity and self discovery is what made the movie so loved and this live action version finally feels like it understands that.
