We both max our Roth IRAs, contribute 10% to our 401ks, and get employer matches. No market timing. Just consistency. 2️⃣ We bought a home we could comfortably afford. We put 20% down, and our mortgage is 15.6% of our ~$200k gross household income. That margin is intentional. 3️⃣ We avoided lifestyle inflation. Before buying our house, we skipped luxury apartments, had a small micro-wedding, and delayed our honeymoon. Raises went to investing first. 4️⃣ We track every dollar. Mid-month check-ins, needs vs. wants breakdowns, regular net worth updates. Clarity reduces chaos.
