I personally grew up with the high expectation of being "the good child." I did well in school and several sports, and I was drawn, almost exclusively, to doing things I would excel in. I developed a fixed mindset, and for the majority of my life, I could not handle being bad at anything. I get easily frustrated, and I have an overwhelming desire to quit anything I struggle with. A little bit more of this could have saved me from myself. I love the idea of showing my children that there can be enjoyment, even through tasks or efforts that are posing a significant challenge.
