Felony assault charges against 27-year-old Gusmane Coulibaly were dropped after his appearance in court yesterday. His attorney said he believes the NYPD is politicizing this issue because they're upset with Mayor Zohran Mamdani and are taking it out on civilians. After videos went viral of New Yorkers throwing snowballs at otticers who went to the park to break up a snowball fight, the NYPD began using those videos to track down everyone who they say participated. Gusmane Coulibaly Is never seen in any of the videos throwing snowballs at officers. The screenshot they used of him with snow in his hands was from a video earlier in the day before NYPD when New Yorkers were in the park playing with snowmen.
