East Harlem open air drug use & sales rage on. ▪️One resident told me it’s like “Hamsterdam” (see ep 29 “The Wire”). ▪️NYPD precinct officers now responding to resident & business owners 311 & 911 quality of life complaints so they can at least get in their doors. ▪️We witnessed drug sales & drug use & residents telling K-2 smokers to move on. ▪️Some here blame NY State laws that in effect decriminalized drug use & drug selling & the multi-million dollar taxpayer funded drug treatment/ harm reduction/safe consumption industry. ▪️It is sad to see human beings in this condition & also to hear the stories from residents & business owners. ▪️We saw local precinct officers respond to complaints that people were using drugs & passing out, blocking the doorway & sidewalk in front of stores. ▪️My report for 10p News Special thanks to my hard working crew who stayed with me on a super hot day & got this done #onassignment #exclusive #fox5ny #foxlocal
