At least 31 activists were injured during Israel’s illegal attack of the Global Sumud Flotilla, organisers said, adding that crew members were subjected to ill-treatment for nearly 40 hours. “Participants were punched, kicked, and dragged across the deck with their hands bound behind their backs. They suffered broken noses, cracked ribs and bloody beatings. Shots were even fired at them in the chaos,” the group said in a statement. The injured included activists from multiple countries: four each from New Zealand and Australia; three each from Italy and the US; two each from Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, Colombia and Germany; and one each from Hungary, Ukraine, France, Poland and Portugal.
