Sometimes I forget how much I love baseball. After I stopped playing in college, I stepped away and barely looked back for several years. Since then, I’ve been on and off about the MLB in general. In every sport I love superstars and underdogs, people I want to willingly root for, and I often feel like I don’t get that in the MLB. That said I do think Ohtani is the best thing for baseball since the chase for the homerun record. I mean heck, it’s probably terrible to say but I loved the steroid era. There was a certain joy about knowing you weren’t just going to see a homerun; you were going to see the ball demolished and sent into freaking orbit. We went to a Giants game last weekend and what a great time it was. Matt Chapman hit a grand slam, and I got to see it all with little man, his family, and our friends. I started thinking to myself, I could get used to watching more games (I later changed my thought when one Corona was $18.50 but yeah). The point is, when it comes to the actual game of baseball, I love kicking back, eating peanuts and taking it all in. What a spectacular day at the ballpark. I felt like a kid again!
