President Trump was evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner here after loud sounds were heard in the ballroom of the hotel where the event is being staged. Trump was sitting on the stage in the front of a ballroom in the Washington Hilton. Vice President JD Vance first lady Melania Trump and cabinet members were also attending the dinner. Trump was quickly removed from the stage by the Secret Service. Once backstage, Trump told people he thought the event should continue, according to a White House official. “Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely,” Trump said in a social-media post. This is the first time Trump attended the event since 2015. He didn’t participate during his first term in office.
