This is how the sliding wall in my van works! 🚐✨ this was one of the most complicated things to design because there aren’t any resources online for how to build something like this 😅 This sliding wall needed to be lightweight, waterproof and strong. Thankfully, I had the help of my dad who is a talented engineer. He helped me design this wall and a local welder executed the vision. 💭 I used stainless steel tracks and heavy duty trolley wheels that are rated for hundreds of pounds! The wall itself has a cabinet on it with a small concrete sink and some storage inside the cabinet. The drain for the sink runs in a channel through the center of the sliding wall and out onto my shower pan! The sliding wall is made from powder coated aluminum and it’s hermetically sealed - so no water will get inside. This wall serves many functions. It has a mirror, storage and a sink. But most importantly, it blocks off my Cinderella Incinerating Toilet when I’m showering so no direct water gets on it #vanbuild #vanlife #diybuild #diyshower #fyp
