Group Member Management
Adding, removing, and managing group members with roles and permissions
Effective group member management ensures productive, organized group conversations. Replyd messenger provides comprehensive tools for adding and removing members, assigning roles, managing permissions, and maintaining group membership, enabling group administrators to create well-organized communities with appropriate access controls and moderation capabilities.
Adding Members: Inviting Participants to Groups Add members to groups by tapping the group name or settings icon, then selecting "Add Members." Search for users by username or select from your contacts. Members can be added individually or in bulk, and you can generate invite codes or links for easy sharing. When adding members, you can assign initial roles (admin, moderator, or member) and set specific permissions. New members receive notifications about their addition to the group.
Member Roles: Understanding Permission Levels Group members can be assigned three primary roles: Admin, Moderator, or Member. Admins have full control including member management, role assignment, group settings modification, and member removal. Moderators can manage messages, remove members, and assist with moderation tasks but cannot modify core group settings. Members have standard participation rights including messaging, media sharing, and basic group interaction. Roles can be changed at any time by admins.
  • Adding Members: Invite users individually or in bulk, generate invite codes, and manage invite permissions
  • Removing Members: Remove members from groups with appropriate permissions, with notifications sent to removed members

  • Permission Management: Configure granular permissions for each role including messaging, moderation, and administration capabilities
  • Member Search: Search and filter group members by name, role, or activity status for efficient member management
  • Member Profiles: View member profiles, activity history, and role information within group contexts
  • Bulk Operations: Perform bulk actions on multiple members including role changes, removal, or permission updates
  • Member Activity: View member activity statistics including message count, last active time, and participation metrics
Member management is crucial for maintaining healthy, productive group conversations. Our member management tools provide the flexibility and control needed to create well-organized groups while ensuring that administrators can effectively moderate and maintain their communities. We believe that good group management leads to better conversations and stronger communities.
Removing Members: Managing Group Membership Remove members from groups by accessing member management settings, selecting the member, and choosing "Remove from Group." Removed members lose access to the group immediately and cannot rejoin unless invited again. Removal notifications are sent to removed members, and group admins can provide removal reasons if desired. Removed members' messages remain in group history unless deleted separately.
Member Permissions: Granular Access Control Configure member permissions through role settings, where you can specify what each role can do within the group. Permissions include sending messages, sharing media, inviting members, managing messages, assigning roles, modifying group settings, and removing members. These granular controls allow you to create custom permission structures that match your group's needs and moderation requirements.
Member Activity and Engagement: Tracking Participation View member activity statistics including message count, last active time, join date, and role history. Activity metrics help group administrators identify active members, recognize contributors, and identify members who may need engagement or moderation attention. These insights support effective group management and community building.
